Rover is a racing Tartan 10 sailboat based in Chicago, IL. Tartan is the builder, and the "10" represents the boat length of ten meters. Tartan 10s were designed by the legenday team of Sparkman & Stephens. Rover was built in 1979 and is Tartan 10 hull #107, Sail # 30328. Rover was known as "Four Star" prior to 2002 and previously resided in Houston and Southern California.
Rover is not a dog, not a wanderer and is most likely not a pirate. Rover is named for the escape-preventing sentry on the old Bristish spy series (The Prisoner). Rover can move extremely quickly over land and water. A formidable, efficient, and seemingly indestructible opponent, Rover can be outwitted but never outrun.
